There's other news in sports other than MLB's Opening Day. After weeks, months, and YEARS of trade rumors, Donovan McNabb has at long last been traded from the Washington Redskins for a 2nd round draft pick this year and a third or fourth rounder in 2011. The fan pulse, at least on the surface, is that the Iggles made a big mistake in making this deal. They didn't seem to get much out of it and they sent away a franchise future Hall of Fame QB that took their team to 5 NFC Championship Games and 1 Super Bowl. Much less the fact that they'd trade a QB the caliber of McNabb within the conference and WITHIN THE DIVISION. Are they already asking for two L's before the season starts? Recently, the Eagles have made a habit of giving longtime veterans the finger. Brian Dawkins is now in Denver, Brian Westbrook is a free agent, and now McNabb is in the Burgundy and Gold. Philly's new starter is a guy named Kevin Kolb who's 25 years old (as opposed to McNabb's 33) and hasn't started that many games so far. Some think Kolb has a shot to be the next Aaron Rodgers. Only time will tell there even though he does have potent offensive weapons like DeSean Jackson and Brent Celek among others. Michael Vick will be the backup. Philly's moving into the future for sure but who knows how that future will be. Who knows what Andy Reid's future will be. Kevin Kolb could be either Aaron Rodgers or Philip Rivers who once held clipboard behind starting QBs for a while. Both Rodgers and Rivers are ...

This week on NEW YORK NOW we take a closer look at the state's effort to enforce the collection of taxes from cigarettes sold on reservation to non-Native Americans. Assembly Minority Leader Brian Kolb (R-Canandaigua) says it's long overdue, while JC Seneca of the Seneca Nation of Indians says it amounts to "an act of war."

"Merrily We Live" is a 1938 screwball comedy from the Hal Roach factory. It is astonishingly close to an outright ripoff of "My Man Godfrey," starring Brian Aherne in the William Powell role. This clip features skilled vaudevillian Clarence Kolb in a polished piece of slapstick. He's funny falling up the stairs. He's positively awe-inspiring as he staggers backwards coming down again. Kolb was 64 at the time. We should all be so co-ordinated at that age. No, it's not a stunt man.
