Boonville is a city in Boon Township, Warrick County, Indiana, United States. The population was 6,834 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Warrick County . Founded in 1818 and named for Jesse Boon, father of Ratliff Boon. However, many mistakenly believe it is named after Ratliff Boon, an early settler and Indiana's second governor, who supported the city becoming county seat.

President Abraham Lincoln studied law in Boonville. When Abraham Lincoln and his family moved from Kentucky to present-day Spencer County in 1816, their homestead was then considered to be within Boonville's Warrick County boundaries. The future president frequently walked to Boonville to borrow books and watch local attorney John Brackenridge argue cases, thus earning Boonville the distinction of being "where Lincoln learned the law."

This is a weekly test of Warrick County's Severe Weather/Outdoor Warning Siren System. The Outdoor Warning Sirens are tested every Saturday at 1:00 PM CST (2:00 EST) for approximately 45 seconds, weather permitting. The system consists of mostly Sentry 10Vs. Additionally, the county also has an old 16/16 port Sterling M-10 as well as a dual (Model 2/10V) siren setup in Tennyson, Indiana. The county's sirens are controlled and activated by Warrick County Central Dispatch. The Sentry 10V is located in Boonville, Indiana at North St. & 1ST St. and is not mounted very high. It sounds as though it also has a single phase motor. Boonville also has another 10V located around Columbia St. & S 4TH St. This is my first video of a siren on my new camera. I do have some close ups in the end and as usual, crappy commentary. I do not have a dedicated map of Warrick County (Boonville) so if anyone wants a map ask "TheWeatherGuys" who helped me find this siren. I still plan on using my old camera with my new one still. In this video, I used both and included the audio in both.
