Birmingham City Council is the metropolitan borough council for the governance of the City of Birmingham in England. It is the most populated local authority in the United Kingdom (excluding counties) with, following a reorganisation of boundaries in June 2004, 120 Birmingham City councillors representing over one million people, in 40 wards. The council headquarters are based at the Council House in the city centre. The council is responsible for running nearly all local services, with the exception of those run by joint boards. The provision of certain services has in recent years been devolved to several council constituencies, which each have a constituency committee made up of councillors from that district.

Comedian Stewart Lee tells Richard Bacon why he's prepared to defend political correctness as part of his comedy act. Lee cites the example of 'Winterval', an initiative by Birminham City Council to combine religious celebrations which some believed was an attempt to ban Christmas.

Birmingham University rowing coach, playing boy racer on a blind bend on wrong side of the river and causing large breaking wash. Yes its dangerous and destroys River Severn banks at Worcester, decreases biodiversity and increases flooding and increases the effects of climate change and of course is far from sustainable. Is this the image Birmingham University really wants? Can they afford to pay the damage? Worcester City Council land alongside at Pitchcroft. Its time BUBC paid more attention to sustainability and the environment. What do you think? He says he has appropriate permission from all authorities including Worcester City Council, Worcestershire Waterways Users Forum and unnamed water authorities. yea he did refuse to give his name, is in a boat made by Sea Strike, but maintains the manufacturers sell the boat for coaching use, refuses to desist from this behaviour, and challenges people to sue the "whole of Birmingham University". His companion stated that if people in houses 100m away from the river are disturbed by rowing coaches shouting through megaphones at people in boats right next to them, at 7 am on Sunday morning, that they should buy a property away from the river. The world according to rowing coaches! Deloitte are the proud sponsors of this environmental destroyer.
