Bastian Schweinsteiger (-deˈbasti̯an ˈʃvaɪnʃtaɪɡɐpronBastian Schweinsteiger.ogg, born 1 August 1984 in Kolbermoor, Bavaria) is a German footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Bayern Munich and the German national team. A right-footed player, he occupied a central role during the 2009 � 10 season. Schweinsteiger has won many trophies in his still continuing career including five Bundesliga titles, five German Cups and two League Cups. During the 2010 UEFA Champions League Final, he played centre-midfield, the position he occupied for most of that season. Schweinsteiger was selected to play for the FC Bayern Munich first team when he was just a teenager, and he continues to serve his team as one of the longest-serving players at Bayern.
