Arsénio Trindade Duarte, most commonly known as Arsénio (born 1925-10-16 in Barreiro) was a former football player, notable for is run at Portuguese giants SL Benfica. He played as a Forward

Arsénio started his career at Barreirense and debuted with only 15 years old against Sporting CP, in a friendly game to commemorate the farewell of Francisco Câmara. That same year Arsénio would become Portuguese Segunda Liga Champion. The young prodigy would eventually sign with SL Benfica.

He began playing with the Benfica Jersey on 19 December 1943, when he was only 18 years old. He would enjoy great success at the Lisbon club playing 446 games and scoring 350 goals. He played for 12 Seasons with the reds shirt from 1943 to 1955.

Arsénio would eventually move to CUF due to the arrival of coach Otto Glória to SL Benfica, and the professionalism of football that the Brazilian coach was bringing with him. Arsénio would prefer to play and at the same time maintain his post as an Industrial worker, something that would not be possible with the arrival of Otto Glória.
