Alain Cantareil (born August 15, 1983) is a French footballer.

Currently on trial for English Championship club Queens Park Rangers, Alain is routinely described as "anonymous" and holds a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the World`s most unrecognised French defender. He, famously, once missed the team transport to a league game and it wasn't until the 85th minute that the team manager noticed that he was absent from the game.

He is currently the French Scrabble champion and is a vocal champion of 'La Vache Qui Rit' cheese.

He was born and, subsequently, grew up, generally in annual stages until he reached the age that he is now.

He is the youngest of a family of 3, with both of his parents being older than he is. His grandfather was also a journeyman pro who never played for Metz and Lorient before losing his stronger left foot on the Somme.

An exponent of the Marseille Banjo, he has released 4 albums. The most successful of these being "can`t hit a cow`s behind", which peaked at number 84 in the charts and led to several approaches from record labels across the World asking him to stop.
