Adams County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of 2010, the population was 2,343. The county was named after John Quincy Adams (1848 - 1919), a railroad official for the Milwaukee Road Railroad and distant relative of U.S. President John Quincy Adams (1767 - 1848). The county seat is Hettinger.
