A test drive on the Yas Marina circut in Abu Dhabi. The Yas Marina Circuit has been announced as the venue for a Formula One race in 2009, the event to be named the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It will be a newly-built circuit designed by Hermann Tilke, on Yas Island, about 30 minutes from the country's capital Abu Dhabi. Yas Marina will be the second Formula One track in the Middle East, with the first being in Bahrain. A GP2 test race will officially open the circuit, which will be held the week before the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. It will also host the opening event for the Australian V8 Supercars series in February 18-20 2010. The Yas island is the site of a US$40 billion development project by Aldar Properties. It occupies a total land area of 2500 hectares, of which 1700 hectares will be claimed for development. The island will feature attractions such as a motor sports racetrack which will be used to host the Formula One Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from 2009 onwards, a movie theme park by Warner Bros called Warner Bros Movie World, hotels, the Ferrari theme park, water park, and the Abu Dhabi destination retail development of 300000 sq m retail area, links and parkland golf courses, lagoon hotels, marinas, polo clubs, apartments, villas and food and beverage outlets that will create a tourist destination.

Hannes Arch of Austria came from behind to win the first Red Bull Air Race World Championship race of the year in Abu Dhabi on Saturday with a scintillating triumph over Britains Paul Bonhomme on a sizzling hot day in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Nicolas Ivanoff of France stormed onto the podium with third place while Britains Nigel Lamb established himself as a force to be reckoned with this year, taking fourth. Australias Matt Hall, one of four rookies in the championship this year, had an outstanding performance in his very first race, grabbing a sensational fifth place on the challenging 6.6-km course of Air Gates set up just above the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf. Arch, the defending world champion, saved his best for last, blazing to victory to the delight of the large crowd of spectators watching from the rim of the Corniche with a stunning time of 1:24.60 - a full 0.89 seconds faster than Bonhommes outstanding effort just moments earlier. Arch had stumbled in the Super 8 session and only just qualified for the Final 4 in fourth place. Arch, who also collected one championship point with his victory in Fridays Qualifying session, then opened up his throttle in the final on a day when temperatures hit 40 degrees Celsius to pick up the 12 points. He will take a three-point lead over Bonhomme (10 points) to the next race in San Diego. www.redbullairrace.com

Onboard with Lewis on his amazing and staggering pole lap around the brand new fascinating Yas Marina Circuit. In Qualifying last year Lewis achieved pole by over 0.6secs over Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber demonstrating McLaren's Monsterous pace around Abu Dhabi last year.Unfortunately he couldnt convert that to a win due to Brake Problems and McLaren's Cautious action about it therefore Seb inherited the Likely Win from Lewis. Will McLaren be able to show another 'Monsterous' performance again this weekend for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix looks Shows How to Drive very Unlikely due to the Compeition but Anything is Possible.
