The 1997 Masters Tournament was the 61st Masters Tournament held from April 10 � 13 at Augusta National Golf Club. Tiger Woods won his first major championship and Masters Tournament by 12 strokes over Tom Kite. Woods broke the four-day tournament low record with an -18 (270). Woods also became the first non-white person, and the youngest player, to win at Augusta.
